Gulf Cove MSBU
What Is It and How Does It Affect You?
As a public service to the members of POGC and the Community of Gulf Cove, we are devoting this page to help all property owners of Gulf Cove better understand what the MSBU (Municipal Services Benefit Unit) system is and the purpose it serves.
The Gulf Cove Street and Drainage MSBU simply stated, is the area of Gulf Cove that is bordered by: State Road 776, Foresman Blvd, Jennings Blvd, and the Myakka River. The Community of Gulf Cove (all 8,000 lot owners) is represented by a voluntary 5 member Advisory Committee that meets regularly and works with the County in determining how this non-ad valorem assessment is spent to maintain and improve our streets and drainage. These meetings are public and you are encouraged to attend. Advisory Committe members, meeting information and minutes can be found by clicking on this Gulf Cove Street and Drainage MSBU link.
GULF COVE STREET & DRAINAGE MSBU
The purpose of the Gulf Cove Waterways MSBU is to provide for dredging as well as periodic maintenance and repairs of Gulf Cove canals, waterways and channels, and any accessory structures. The Waterways unit is represented by a voluntary 5 member Advisory Committee that meets regularly and works with the County in determining how this non-ad valorem assessment is spent to maintain and our waterways. These meetings are public and you are encouraged to attend. Advisory Committe members, meeting information and minutes can be found by clicking on this Gulf Cove Street and Drainage MSBU link below.
