About Property Owners of Gulf Cove Inc.

Who We Are and What We Do

Our Gulf Cove community is located in Charlotte County, Florida on the banks of the scenic Myakka River and is defined as all the areas included in the boundaries formed by the Myakka River, State Road 776, the Newgate Waterway behind Foresman Boulevard from Holton Terrace to Jennings Boulevard, to Anderson Waterway (North of Chilcote Terrace) to the Myakka River.

We hope the following information will be a catalyst to attract our property owners to join POGC.

Property Owners of Gulf Cove Park Boat Ramp From Above 1

Gulf Cove is not an HOA deed restricted community. Gulf Cove property is regulated by Charlotte County’s Code of Laws and Ordinances.

Gulf Cove does have a voluntary property owners association called Property Owners of Gulf Cove, Inc. (POGC).

POGC owns two private waterfront recreational properties that encompass a little over 5 acres on the Myakka River. These waterfront amenities are available to Gulf Cove property owners who support POGC through annual membership dues and/or ramp fees. The POGC waterfront park includes a pavilion, picnic tables, benches along the river, and playground area. The POGC ramp provides direct boating access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico as well as boat trailer parking.

Because these properties are privately owned by POGC Inc, not one cent of Gulf Cove property taxes or MSBU assessments can be used for their operation, maintenance and improvement. All funding must be generated by POGC Inc. through annual member dues, annual ramp decal fees and various fundraising events.

POGC membership allows property owners the right to approve (1) all policies of POGC; (2) the annual budget; and (3) expenditures in excess of the approved Annual Budget. Strong membership numbers enable POGC to provide community strength in dealing with various governmental and commercial organizations that have the directed, planned or implied

responsibility for providing services, utilities, mosquito control, erosion control, canal maintenance, land maintenance, street maintenance, and/or drainage to the community.

POGC is governed by a board of directors and officers that are unpaid volunteers. They donate their time and talents for the improvement of the park and ramp recreational areas as well as the community of Gulf Cove.

If you're looking to be more involved in your community and have a part in making decisions that affect our neighborhood, come join us today!
